The 1850 census lists a 1 year old in the house named Narcissa; she appears in no other census records. Subsequent years (1860, 1870, and 1880) have a child Caroline who, from her age, would have been born in the same year as Narcissa. Perhaps these are the same person.
There is a Caroline Oliphant of the right age living in Dickson Co in the 1910 census in the home of a Brad(?) and Etta Pennell; Brad is listed as Head of house, Etta is listed as the wife; and Caroline is listed as 'mother'?
In the 1930 census there is a Caroline Oliphant of the right age living in Dickson County in the home of a Robert Johnston. Her relationship to Robert is 'mother in law'.
