INDEX

[644] Source for the name Walter and names of children: Ruby Hewgley Barnes. Ruby lists the children as Otto, Arnold, Andrew, Polly, and Etta in an interview from the late 90s.

In a later interview with her daughter in 2001, Ruby said that she believed Walter's wife's name was Lizzie, and that she thought her last name was Carney. She also listed an additional child named Lucille.

In the 1910 census, there is a Walter E. Davis living on Marrowbone Road in Davidson County (Dist 14/114). He is married to a Lizzie, and has the following children: Eva, Otto, John, Louise, and Arnold. Also in the home is Harriet Morgan, age 65, whose relationship is listed as 'Mother'.

The 1920 census lists the same children, plus Andrew, Lucille, and Etta.

In the 1930 census, the family is living in Cheatham County. Andrew, Lucille, and Etta are the only children still living in the home.

Ran a grocery, per Ruby Barnes, and also the train depot for Bull Run.

Tombstone lists middle name Ennis.

WWI Draft Registration (1918) lists his middle name as "Enise", gives his birthdate, his wife as Lizzie, and that he worked as a farmer in Cheatham Co. He is described as being of medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair, and appears to say that he only had one eye.
