INDEX

[60] Appears as "John W." in most sources, including Abraham's will.

In 1850 census, he is living in Abraham's home with wife Jane, and children Ann, William, Augustus, and Henrietta. Also in the home is a 16 year old named Sarah Whitsitt. Acklen & Whitley show John W. marrying a Jane Whitsitt.

The 1860 census shows him as John W. again, with a wife Jane and the same children (plus more); the John W. of the 1860 census is obviously the William of 1850.

Occupation listed as 'Farmer' in 1860 census.

There is also a marriage between a John Hugeley and a Martha M. Cawthon that takes place on 2/6/1837, with Isaac Rutland providing the bond. This record is listed in Marriages of Wilson County by Edyth Whitley and others. This may be an earlier marriage of this John. There is, however, another John that it could be; in the 1850 census there is a John married to a 'Malinda' with children beginning in 1837. If Martha's middle initial M. stands for Malinda they could be the same person, so I'm hesitant to assume it is this John.

In 1880, John is widowed, and living in District 25 with children W.B., Henrietta, and R. Emmett.
