Birth info from 1880 census.
W. R. and Tildie raised Tildie's niece, Myrtle. Ruby Barnes stated that after Tildie's death he married her. Ruby did not believe that W.R. had any children of his own. Marjorie Hewgley Northern (2/22/05), clarified that William and Matilda did have one child, and that is the Frank that is living next door to them in the 1910 census. This is backed up by Frank's death certificate, which also adds the detail that William's middle name was Riley. In his obituary, however, it lists one son surviving him, a "P. B. Hewgley".
Ms. Northern states that Will and Matilda were divorced some time after 1930, and sometime after that he married Myrtle, his niece.
In 1910 census, William is living in Cheatham Co, Dist 1, on Hydes Ferry Road. He is next door to a 20 yr old Frank Hewgley.

FARMER DIES
W. R. Hewgley
Funeral services for W. R. Hewgley, 67, prominent farmer of near Hermiage, who died Friday afternoon, will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home, conducted by Elder Vester Cawthon. Burial will be in the family cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Dies Hewgley; a son, P. B. Hewgley; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Thompson, and Mrs. Bettie Russell, both of Nashville; two brothers, Ben Hewgley, of Ashland City, and Charles Hewgley, of Detroit, Mich.; one grandson and one great-grandson.
