Obituary:
Miss Barnes
Services for Miss Rebecca Gail Barnes, 36, were held today at Pettus-Owen & Wood funeral home. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park North.
Miss Barnes died of cancer Monday at her home.
Born in Davidson County, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert C. Barnes of Ashland City.
A graduate of Cohn High School and of George Peabody College, she was employed in the Davidson County public and private schools, most recently at Nashville Christian Academy.
Miss Barnes was a member of Scottsboro Church of Christ.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a sister, Mrs. E.F. DeJarnatt, Charlotte, N.C., and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Virgil Hewgley.
She had had cancer in her kidney that was removed in 1973. It resumed in 1975, and she passed away in 1976.
