INDEX

[24] The deed between Bryan Fairfax and Jacob makes reference to his wife, Margaret and son John. The deed is witnessed by Job and Charles.

Jacob, in turn witnesses Job's deed and Abraham's as well.

In December 1808, the court in Fairfax Co VA ordered an Inventory/Appraisal of the estate of Jacob Huguely, deceased. His estate was then sold off, and a record is left of the sales that were made. Objects were sold to the following Huguley names (others also bought from the estate but aren't recorded here): John Huguley, Enoch Huguley, James Huguley, Charles Huguley, Catherine Huguley, and Abraham Huguley. The administrators of the estate were John and James Huguley. James purchases Jacob's lease on 135 acres of land - the same amount as the Fairfax lease. It seems likely, then, that James - as Executor and the one who assumes Jacob's lease - is another son of Jacob, who was born after the lease was made.

A further reasonable guess is that this may be the James that married Mary Hummer, moved to TN, and died there. This James perished in a drowning accident with the husband of Rebecca Huguley Hessey, whose tombstone states that she was a daughter of Jacob and Margaret.
