A "Laura J" appears in the 1860 census at 4 months old, so born about 1860. In 1880 census there is a daughter in Elizabeth's home of the same age that Laura should be, whose name is "Tennie J", and she appears in subsequent censuses. Laura is never seen again. Don't know if these are the same child, or if Laura died and Tennie was born shortly thereafter. Assuming for now this is the same person.
According to Marjorie Northern Hewgley, "she was called "Aunt Tennie" and I never heard her called by any other name. Her headstone is engraved Tennie Hewgley. I guess if I ever thought it was other than Tennie, I would have thought Tennessee. She always lived with Sam and my grandmother. After Sam died she still lived with my grandmother until her death in 1944."
Tennie is living in brother Sam's home in 1910-1930 censuses.
